Happy Birthday...Jack!

So we have his birthday season in our family. Danny's was April 25th, then Jack on May 1st, and finally Isaak on June 16th. Then my sister's and their husbands have birthdays in the warm weather too.

But back to the point of the post. Jack is 1 year old! He has been the first one where I look back and say, " That was fast!". He has been too much fun to have in our family! Danny will already admit that he spoils the crud out of him and needs to stop. He did keep his word and has lived with the wrath of baby Jack, not getting his way with Daddy.

To bring you up to speed on him...Jack was born on May 1st 2008 in the A.M. I'm fuzzy on the time right now cause of being drugged up at the time. LOL! But he was my first by C-section cause he was breech. Jack was 9lbs 9oz and 20inches long. With a head full of black hair!

Egg Hunting

This was the first year the boys really asked to Easter egg hunt. So Daddy went out and hid 13 eggs and each had something inside. Two of them had a dollar each in it. We made sure Isaak and Brett each found one of those eggs. Also, just this weekend we found a bunnies nest in our front yard up next to the house.

We did a lot of work this weekend as well. I finished painting the kitchen and Danny tiled the back splash behind the stove top! I love the tiles we picked out! Now, we have to get the living room floor changed out! Hardwood will be much better than the white carpet we have now. It spends all the time dirty. So wish us luck!

The newest member of the Archibald family arrived a little after 2am on April 11th! Only weighing 6lbs 10oz she is doing great! Sara got to the hospital about midnight. So is wasn't very long before their little girl got here. I will put up a picture as soon as I see her today! Love to all! I don't know if she is named yet or not.

This is just a preface to let you know I spent all morning updating my blog. So there are about 4 new posts to read. I kept them short so enjoy!

Keeping our heads above water

Me and some of the other mom's that I go to church with decided to start a lunch/play date once a week. We get together at someones house and bring food to share and let the kids play. The most important thing is that we all get to talk to each other. Rotating houses helps keep down on the mess we all have to clean. This past week it was at Melissa Clark's house and she had an awesome setup in her backyard for the kids to play. The group is getting sort of big so for the warmer days with no rain we are going to move it to a local park. That way there isn't so much madness. But we love the time we get to catch up with one another.

Brendi is such a great sport and lets me take a picture of her. Everyone else dives out of the way!

Can you tell I don't have my paint.net downloaded yet on my new computer. I haven't been able to fix any of my pictures!

A baby shower!

As most of you know my sister Sara is having a baby here anytime now! We are all so excited! So we thought we would let her know how much we love her by taking her to lunch and showering her with gifts. She really wanted to go to Rosie's...a Mexican restaurant here in Huntsville. It is a very yummy place! Mom and Jennie drove up one Saturday and met us there. I have to say I have really been enjoying getting stuff for her and the new baby! Hope you all like the pictures!

I got a picture of Jennie but she was talking and had her eyes closed so I didn't think she would appreciate me putting it up. She was too kind and brought a little girl she was taking care of that day! We had so much fun and I loved spending the day with them!

Modern Convenience?

We all know how much better things look out of sight. We have wireless modems because we hate cords. We have things to hide cords from cable and TV. And now we put cable lines, phone lines and plumbing(well its been down there for a while) in the ground outside instead of hanging from power poles. So much better right? It is until they start breaking each others fiber optic cables, and septic pipes. The rules are, also, that they have to be so many feet away from roads so that they don't get disturbed by or messed up when roads are repaved. Smart, huh? Wrong!!!! Since we have lived here (two years) our yard has been dug up and not re-sodded now, 4 times. Most recently last week. Each time we are promised it will be fixed. Well, this last time I walked outside and got everyone's name and business cards, even their bosses card so that I could insure we could bug the crap out of them until they kept their word to fix the yard. Not only are we trying to sale our house but who wants their front yard looking like this?

"OH, Honey lets buy that house!" NOT!


I just want to vomit!

So by following the guidelines of keeping the stuff away from the road it puts all this stuff in our front yards. Not just mine...everyone who lives in a neighborhood without power lines running through the air...this could be you someday soon. Especially with AT&T having trouble all over the U.S. trying to update old lines that aren't able to carry the work load of today's technology. Good luck to us all!

Trying to play catch up!

I have about 5 new posts to put up. A lot has been going on lately. I have to check my pix so I get all my posts in the right order. First I'll explain why I am behind. We got a brand spanking new computer. Our other one was 6 years old...I know shocking for the wife of a computer science guy! But he has been so kind to me and just kept in running instead of replacing it. Well, even after reviving it almost everyday he kept making it go. Now, we have a new one and I am trying so hard how to figure it out. The easier they make things the hard it seems to be for me. But Danny has been great, helping me. Anyway, now I know how to get my pictures off my camera onto the new computer and then downloaded and saved in a folder. Simple, I know, but I spend my life trying now to learn more of this tech. stuff.

So here we go. Brett,of course, is the topic of this post. He keeps me so busy. His little hands can't seem to be controlled, even by himself. He has to touch and examine everything he sees. Normally his daddy will fix his(Brett's) hair with some water and gel in the mornings cause my boys have crazy hair! Well, Brett believes he is big enough to do everything himself! EVERYTHING! So he stands up to go potty(good right?), but the poor child has NO aim! So by the time he has a little dribble left he hits the toilet. Then he washes his own hands with half a bottle of soap, and drys them with a hand towel. After that he moves to brushing his teeth. And somehow it turns into him spitting on the mirror for 15minutes. While that is going on Jack gets to doing his favorite pass time...splashing in the toilet. Flushed or not...he loves it. Gross I know! Then Brett moves on to fixing his hair with about a gallon of water and a handful of his Daddy's hair goo. He can do all this on his own, but can't snap his pants buttoned or pick up anything. He lays on the floor and insists he can't do it. Some days I laugh other days I turn and walk away. Then he comes up with a new thing yesterday. He needs his eating hat. I don't understand what he's going on about so I tell him to go get it so we can put it on. Anything to get him to eat, right? So this is what he brings me to put on his head...and he does eat his dinner! Enjoy the pix of my "do it himself" son!
